Black Hole Attack
A Black Hole Attack is a cyber threat in wireless networks where a malicious device falsely claims to have the best connection path, attracting data packets. Instead of forwarding them, it absorbs or drops the data, causing loss of information and disrupting communication. This attack exploits routing protocols by convincing other nodes that it’s the most efficient route, creating a "black hole" where data disappears. It undermines network reliability and security, often requiring detection techniques to identify and prevent data from being diverted or lost.
