Black feminist criticism
Black feminist criticism is an approach that examines how gender and race intersect to shape the experiences and representations of Black women. It critiques mainstream feminism and literature for often overlooking or marginalizing Black women's voices and stories. This perspective seeks to highlight the unique struggles, identities, and cultural contributions of Black women, emphasizing the importance of intersectionality—how various social identities like race, gender, and class overlap—to better understand their realities and challenge systemic inequalities.
