Black-browed Albatross
The Black-browed Albatross is a large seabird known for its striking appearance, with a mostly white body, dark upper wings, and distinctive black eyebrows that give it its name. It primarily inhabits the Southern Ocean surrounding Antarctica and nearby islands. These birds are excellent gliders, spending most of their life soaring over the ocean with minimal wing flapping, which conserves energy during long migrations. They feed mainly on fish and squid, often scavenging or catching prey near the water's surface. Known for their impressive wingspan, they can reach up to 7 feet, making them one of the more recognizable and charismatic seabirds.
