Bitmaps

A bitmap is a digital image made up of tiny dots called pixels, each holding color information. Think of it like a mosaic where every individual tile's color is defined, combining to form a complete picture. The resolution of a bitmap—its detail and clarity—depends on how many pixels it contains; more pixels mean a sharper image. Bitmaps are commonly used in digital photos and graphics, especially when high detail is needed. However, larger bitmaps take up more storage space and can lose quality if scaled up too much.
