Bitemporal Data

Bitemporal data refers to information that captures two types of time: when an event or fact actually happened (transaction time) and when it was recorded or known in the system (system time). This allows tracking not only the history of real-world events but also how the record of those events has changed over time in the database. For example, it helps understand when a change was made and when the event truly occurred, supporting accurate historical analysis and auditing. Essentially, bitemporal data provides a complete view of both real-world history and its representation in the data system.
