Bishop Henry McNeal Turner

Bishop Henry McNeal Turner (1834–1915) was a prominent African American religious leader, preacher, and activist. As a bishop in the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church, he championed civil rights, abolition, and racial equality. Turner was a passionate orator who also advocated for African Americans to migrate to Africa, believing it would empower Black communities and foster pride.
