BIRN, or the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network, is a nonprofit organization that promotes independent journalism in Southeastern Europe. It provides training, resources, and a platform for journalists to freely investigate and report on issues like corruption, organized crime, and human rights. BIRN aims to strengthen media transparency and hold authorities accountable, supporting a more informed and democratic society in the region.
