Bipolarity
Bipolarity refers to the presence of two contrasting or opposing states, often relating to emotions, ideas, or political systems. In mental health, bipolar disorder involves extreme mood swings between high energy, euphoria or irritability (mania) and deep depression. In politics or international relations, bipolarity describes a system dominated by two superpowers or influences, such as during the Cold War with the US and USSR. It highlights a balance of power where two main entities or forces maintain stability, but shifts or conflicts between them can lead to tension or change.
