Bioretention Systems

Bioretention systems are specially designed landscapes that manage stormwater runoff by using natural processes. They typically feature a planted area, often called a rain garden, that collects rainwater from impervious surfaces like roads and rooftops. The soil and plants filter pollutants and absorb excess water, allowing it to slowly seep into the ground. This helps reduce flooding, improve water quality, and recharge groundwater. Bioretention systems are an environmentally friendly way to address water management while supporting local ecosystems and enhancing community aesthetics.
