Biopharmaceutical classification system
The Biopharmaceutical Classification System (BCS) is a way to categorize medicines based on how easily they dissolve in the body and how well they are absorbed into the bloodstream. It helps determine how quickly a drug acts and whether special testing is needed for approval. There are four classes: drugs that dissolve and absorb easily, those that dissolve well but absorb poorly, those that dissolve poorly but absorb well, and those that do both poorly. This system guides drug development, quality control, and ensuring medicines are effective and safe.
