Biological taxonomy

Biological taxonomy is the system scientists use to classify and organize living organisms into categories based on shared characteristics and evolutionary relationships. It helps us understand how different species are related and grouped. The main levels include domain, kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, and species. For example, humans are classified as Homo sapiens, where "Homo" is the genus and "sapiens" the species. This system provides a standardized way to identify, study, and communicate about the diversity of life on Earth.
