Biological essentialism
Biological essentialism is the belief that certain traits, abilities, or behaviors are fundamentally determined by biology or genetics, and that these characteristics are fixed or natural to specific groups, such as based on gender or race. It assumes that these biological factors shape identity and social roles, often overlooking the influence of environment, culture, and individual choice. While biology does play a role in human development, this perspective can lead to stereotypes and ignore the diversity and complexity of human experiences.
