Biological DMARDs

Biological DMARDs are advanced medications used to treat autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. They work by targeting specific parts of the immune system that cause inflammation and joint damage. Unlike traditional drugs, biological DMARDs are made from living cells or bacteria and are designed to block proteins or cells involved in the immune response. This helps reduce swelling, pain, and tissue damage, improving quality of life. They are usually used when other treatments haven't been effective and are administered via injections or infusions under medical supervision.
