Biofuels Directive

The Biofuels Directive is a European regulation aimed at increasing the use of renewable energy sources in transportation, primarily biofuels made from plants or waste. It sets targets for the amount of biofuels to be blended with traditional fossil fuels to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on oil.
