biodispersants

Biodispersants are natural or biological agents used to break up oil slicks on water surfaces. They work by reducing the size of oil droplets, spreading them out more evenly, which helps marine ecosystems and cleanup efforts. Unlike chemical dispersants, biodispersants are environmentally friendly, often derived from microorganisms or natural substances, and tend to have less toxic impact. They are employed in oil spill response to facilitate natural degradation of the oil by enhancing microbial activity and reducing the environmental harm caused by large oil accumulations in oceans.
