Bio solids

Biosolids are nutrient-rich organic materials resulting from the treatment of sewage sludge. After wastewater is cleaned in treatment plants, the leftover solids are processed—through methods like composting or digestion—to reduce pathogens and odors. These treated biosolids can then be safely used as fertilizer or soil conditioner, providing nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorus that help plants grow. They are a sustainable way to recycle waste and enrich soils, but must meet strict safety standards to protect health and the environment.
