Billroth II Procedure
The Billroth II procedure is a surgical operation to treat stomach problems, often ulcers or cancer. During the operation, the lower part of the stomach (the remnant) is removed. The remaining part is then connected to the small intestine (the jejunum), bypassing the duodenum. This helps reduce symptoms or manage disease by rerouting the food pathway. The procedure also involves closing off the original connection between the stomach and duodenum, allowing for better healing and relief from issues like bleeding or obstruction.
