Bile Duct

The bile duct is a tube that carries bile—a digestive fluid produced by the liver—to the small intestine. Bile helps break down fats during digestion. The duct starts in the liver, where bile is made, and channels it through the common bile duct, which connects to the small intestine (specifically the duodenum). It may also connect with the gallbladder, where bile is stored before being released. Proper functioning of the bile duct is essential for healthy digestion, and blockages or infections can cause health issues like pain, jaundice, or digestive problems.
