Bidialectism
Bidialectism is the ability of a person to speak and switch between two different dialects or varieties of the same language, depending on context or audience. Unlike bilingualism, which involves two different languages, bidialectism involves variations within a single language, often influenced by regional, social, or cultural factors. For example, someone who speaks both standard English and a regional dialect, and adjusts their speech accordingly, exhibits bidialectism. It reflects linguistic flexibility and can serve social, cultural, or communicative purposes.
