The biceps femoris is a muscle located at the back of your thigh, part of the hamstring group. It has two parts (heads) that work together to bend (flex) your knee and help rotate your leg outward. It also plays a role in extending your hip when you move your leg backward. This muscle is important for activities like walking, running, and jumping. It connects your pelvis and lower leg, providing strength and stability to your leg during movement. Injuries to the biceps femoris can cause pain and limit mobility, often requiring proper rest and rehabilitation.
