Bhutto's Execution
Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan’s former Prime Minister, was executed in 1979 after a military coup led by General Zia-ul-Haq, who accused her of corruption and political conspiracy. She was imprisoned, faced trial, and was sentenced to death in her absence. However, she was not executed; instead, she went into exile to escape political persecution. Her death in 2007 was a result of assassination, not execution. The 1979 death sentence was later annulled, and her legacy remains influential in Pakistani politics.
