Bhopal State
Bhopal State was a princely state in central India during British rule, with Bhopal as its capital. Governed by a Nawab, it had a degree of autonomy but was part of British India until independence in 1947. After independence, Bhopal merged into the Indian Union in 1949 and became part of Madhya Pradesh in 1956. Historically, Bhopal was known for its unique blend of culture, architecture, and a significant Muslim influence, which remains evident today. The state played a key role in regional history, serving as a center for trade and diplomacy in central India.
