Bhatkhande
Hindustani classical music is built around ragas, which are specific melodic frameworks. Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande was an influential Indian musicologist who, in the early 20th century, organized these ragas into a systematic classification called the "Thaat" system. His work made it easier for musicians and students to learn, understand, and interpret ragas by providing a structured framework. Bhatkhande’s efforts helped standardize Hindustani music notation and teaching, preserving its traditions while making it more accessible to modern practitioners and audiences alike.
