Bhartiya Jana Sangh

The Bharatiya Jana Sangh was a political party in India founded in 1951 by Syama Prasad Mukherjee. It aimed to promote Indian nationalism, cultural identity, and conservative values, emphasizing Hindu cultural heritage and national sovereignty. The party sought to oppose what it saw as threats to India’s traditions and identity from Western influence and socialist policies. In 1977, it evolved into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is now one of India’s major political parties. The Jana Sangh played a significant role in shaping Hindu nationalist politics and advocating for policies aligned with its cultural and national ideals.
