Betsy Lehman

Betsy Lehman was a respected journalist who tragically became a victim of medical error. In 1994, she received an excessively high dose of chemotherapy due to a mistake, which led to her death. As a result, the Betsy Lehman Center for Patient Safety and Medical Error Reduction was established in Massachusetts to improve healthcare safety and prevent similar tragedies by promoting transparency, reporting errors, and encouraging best practices.
