Betrixaban
Betrixaban is an anticoagulant medication used to prevent blood clots in hospitalized patients at risk for venous thromboembolism (VTE), such as deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. It works by inhibiting a protein called factor Xa, which plays a key role in blood clot formation. Betrixaban is taken orally, usually once a day, and is prescribed for patients who are hospitalized or recently discharged and have limited mobility. Its goal is to reduce the chance of dangerous clots forming during periods of immobility, improving patient safety without significantly increasing bleeding risks.
