Beta Crucis

Beta Crucis, also known as Mimosa, is a bright, massive star located in the Southern Hemisphere's constellation called Crux, the Southern Cross. It is a blue-white supergiant, meaning it is much larger and hotter than our Sun, emitting a bluish light. Beta Crucis is part of a multiple star system, with several companion stars orbiting it. Its intense brightness and mass make it an important object for astronomers studying stellar evolution. Situated about 690 light-years away, it’s visible to the naked eye and serves as a prominent navigation star in the southern sky.
