Berry Aneurysm
A Berry aneurysm is a small, bulging bulge that forms in a blood vessel in the brain, resembling a tiny berry. It develops when the wall of a brain artery weakens, allowing it to balloon outward. Often, these aneurysms don’t cause symptoms but can be dangerous if they rupture, leading to bleeding in the brain and a serious condition called a subarachnoid hemorrhage. Risk factors include high blood pressure, smoking, and family history. Detecting and monitoring berry aneurysms is important to prevent potential life-threatening complications.
