Beringia Theory

The Beringia Theory suggests that during the last Ice Age, a land bridge called Beringia connected Asia and North America across the Bering Strait. As sea levels dropped due to large ice sheets, this land became exposed, allowing humans and animals to migrate between continents. These early migrants likely followed herds and new resources into the Americas, eventually leading to the diverse Indigenous cultures we see today. When the Ice Age ended and sea levels rose, the land bridge submerged, isolating the Americas from Asia. This theory explains how the Americas were first populated by peoples migrating from Asia.
