Bering Strait Theory

The Bering Strait Theory suggests that thousands of years ago, during the last Ice Age, sea levels were lower, exposing a land bridge called Beringia between Asia and North America. Early humans and animals crossed this land bridge, migrating into the Americas. As glaciers melted and sea levels rose, the land bridge submerged under the Bering Strait, trapping populations southward. This theory explains how humans first arrived in the Americas and how ecosystems and species spread between continents. It’s a key idea in understanding human migration and prehistoric history in the Western Hemisphere.
