Berenice

Berenice is a constellation in the northern sky, named after a historical figure, Queen Berenice II of Egypt. It was created by the astronomer Ptolemy in the 2nd century and is relatively faint, composed of a group of stars that form a pattern resembling a hair or a lock of hair. Its purpose was to honor the queen’s sacrifice or loyalty. Today, Berenice is mainly of interest to astronomers and stargazers who enjoy identifying its stars and understanding its place among the many constellations in the night sky.
