BER (Bit Error Rate)
Bit Error Rate (BER) is a measure of how often errors occur when data is transmitted over a communication system. It is calculated by dividing the number of incorrectly received bits by the total number of bits sent. For example, if 1 out of every 1,000 bits is received incorrectly, the BER is 0.001. A lower BER indicates a more reliable and accurate data transfer, which is crucial for systems like internet connections, mobile communications, and satellite links to ensure information is transmitted correctly and efficiently.
