Bequests
Bequests refer to the act of leaving assets or property to individuals or organizations through a will after someone's death. Essentially, it’s a way for someone to designate who will receive their belongings, such as money, real estate, or personal items. Bequests can be specific (naming certain items) or residual (allocating what remains after other bequests). In estate planning, bequests help ensure that a person’s wishes are honored and can also support charitable causes or benefit loved ones, reflecting the deceased's values and priorities.
