BeppoSAX

BeppoSAX was an Italian–Dutch space telescope launched in 1996 to study cosmic X-ray sources. It played a key role in understanding phenomena like black holes, neutron stars, and gamma-ray bursts by detecting high-energy X-ray signals from space. Its advanced instruments allowed scientists to observe the universe in different X-ray energies, providing detailed insights into the behavior of extreme cosmic events. BeppoSAX significantly contributed to multi-wavelength astronomy, helping link observations across the electromagnetic spectrum and enhancing our knowledge of high-energy astrophysics before its mission ended in 2002.
