BepiColombo
BepiColombo is a joint mission by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) to study Mercury, the closest planet to the Sun. Launched in 2018, it consists of two orbiters that work together to examine Mercury's surface, magnetic field, and interior structure. The mission aims to improve our understanding of Mercury’s composition, geology, and how it interacts with the Sun’s influence. BepiColombo's innovative instruments and complex trajectory, including multiple flybys, allow scientists to gather detailed data about Mercury that was previously unavailable.
