Benny Tai is a Hong Kong legal scholar and activist known for advocating for democratic reforms and greater political freedom. He played a prominent role in organizing Hong Kong's 2014 pro-democracy protests, called the Umbrella Movement, which aimed to pressure China to allow fair voting.
