Bennett's Law
Bennett’s Law states that as a country's income and standards of living increase, people tend to consume more animal-based foods, especially meat, dairy, and eggs, relative to plant-based foods. This occurs because wealthier societies often have more resources for diverse diets and place a higher value on animal products. Essentially, economic growth shifts consumption patterns toward more meat and dairy, reflecting changes in preferences, affordability, and access to these foods. The law helps explain global dietary trends, such as increased meat consumption in developing and developed countries over time.
