Bennett Model

The Bennett Model offers a framework for understanding how people adapt when traveling abroad. It suggests that travelers experience three phases: the Honeymoon phase, where they enjoy new sights and experiences; the Frustration phase, where cultural differences and challenges may cause discomfort; and the Adjustment phase, where they start to understand and adapt to the new culture. This model helps explain the emotional journey faced during cultural transitions, emphasizing that initial excitement often gives way to difficulty, but eventually leads to greater cultural understanding and comfort.
