Bengal Subah

Bengal Subah was a significant division of the Mughal Empire in the Indian subcontinent, existing roughly from the early 17th century to 1757. It was a wealthy and prosperous region, comprising present-day Bangladesh and parts of eastern India. The term “Subah” means province, so Bengal Subah was the Bengal province under Mughal rule. It was known for its thriving trade, rich agriculture, and vibrant culture. The division played a crucial role in regional politics, economics, and history until it was overtaken by the British East India Company after the Battle of Plassey in 1757, marking the beginning of British colonial dominance in India.
