Benga Language
Benga is a Bantu language spoken primarily in western Kenya, particularly around Lake Victoria. It is part of the larger Niger-Congo language family and shares similarities with other Bantu languages. Benga has unique tonal and grammatical features, facilitating communication among the Benga people. The language plays a vital role in cultural identity, oral traditions, and community cohesion. Although primarily spoken locally, efforts are ongoing to preserve and promote Benga, especially in the face of increasing influences from more widely spoken languages like Swahili and English.
