Benedict XVI (Pope)

Benedict XVI, born Joseph Ratzinger in 1927, served as Pope from 2005 to 2013, as the leader of the Roman Catholic Church. He is known for his theological expertise, conservative views, and efforts to reaffirm church doctrines. Prior to becoming pope, he was a respected professor and Vatican official, notably serving as the head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. Benedict XVI emphasized traditional Catholic teachings, liturgical reform, and dialogue with other faiths. He resigned in 2013, citing age and health reasons, becoming the first pope to do so in over 600 years.
