Ben Mottelson

Ben Mottelson was a Danish physicist renowned for his work on the structure of atomic nuclei. He helped develop models that explain how protons and neutrons are arranged and behave inside an atom's nucleus, revealing the complex dynamics of matter at the smallest scale. His research contributed significantly to nuclear physics, improving our understanding of atomic stability, energy production, and fundamental forces. In 1975, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics along with Giuseppe Viola for insights into nuclear structure. Mottelson’s work deepened our knowledge of the building blocks of matter and their interactions.
