Bellum Justum
Bellum Justum, or "just war," is a principle in ethics and philosophy that defines when it is morally acceptable to go to war. It asserts that warfare can only be justified if certain conditions are met, such as having a just cause (like self-defense or protecting innocent lives), being declared by a legitimate authority, and conducting the war with right intentions, like restoring peace. Additionally, the harm caused must be proportionate to the benefit gained. Essentially, Bellum Justum seeks to ensure that war is fought ethically, only when necessary, and with proper justification.
