
Bell Atlantic
Bell Atlantic was a major telecommunications company in the United States, formed in 1983 after the breakup of AT&T. It provided telephone services, internet, and related communications to millions of customers, primarily in the eastern U.S. Bell Atlantic was known for its extensive landline phone network and played a key role in the development of telecommunications infrastructure. In 2000, it merged with GTE to form Verizon Communications, which is now one of the largest providers of wireless and broadband services in the country.
