Bell (as a conditioned stimulus)

In classical conditioning, a Bell becomes a conditioned stimulus when it is repeatedly paired with an unconditioned stimulus—like food—that naturally triggers a response, such as salivation. Over time, the individual learns to associate the Bell with the food, so that hearing the Bell alone elicits the response. Essentially, the Bell shifts from being a neutral sound to a signal that predicts the arrival of food. This process shows how animals and humans can learn to respond to new cues through repeated associations.
