Belgian Revolution

The Belgian Revolution of 1830 was a conflict where the southern provinces of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands sought independence due to cultural, religious, and economic differences. The predominantly Catholic Belgians resented Dutch dominance, leading to protests and outbreaks of violence. Recognizing these tensions, the Belgian insurgents declared independence, and after armed struggle and international support, Belgium established itself as a separate, independent nation in 1831. This revolution marked the end of Dutch control and the emergence of Belgium as a sovereign state.
