Belgian Judiciary

The Belgian judiciary is the system of courts and judges responsible for interpreting and applying the law in Belgium. It includes several levels: courts of first instance handle civil, criminal, and administrative cases; the Court of Appeal reviews decisions from lower courts; and the Supreme Court ensures uniform application of law. Specialized courts, like labor and commercial courts, address specific areas. Judges are independent, and the judiciary operates under the principles of justice and impartiality, ensuring legal disputes are resolved fairly and in accordance with Belgian and EU law.
