Belgian Heavy Draft

The Belgian Heavy Draft is a large, powerful breed of draft horse originating from Belgium. Known for their muscular build and strength, they typically weigh between 2,000 to 2,500 pounds and stand about 16 to 17 hands high. Bred primarily for heavy agricultural work, logging, and hauling, these horses are valued for their stamina, gentle temperament, and ability to perform demanding tasks. Their distinctive appearance includes a broad chest, strong legs, and often a solid or piebald (black and white) coat. They are appreciated both for their working capability and as gentle, reliable companions.
