Beirut Port
Beirut Port is Lebanon’s main maritime gateway, handling most of the country’s imports and exports. It is a large, complex facility where ships dock to unload goods such as food, construction materials, and manufactured products. The port includes warehouses, cranes, and transportation links that facilitate the movement of cargo to and from Lebanon. On August 4, 2020, a massive explosion caused extensive damage to the port’s infrastructure, leading to economic and social challenges for the country. Despite its importance, the port faces ongoing issues related to safety, management, and modernization.
