behaviors and traits of malignant narcissism

Malignant narcissism combines traits of narcissism—excessive self-focus and entitlement—with aggressive and sometimes antisocial behaviors, including a lack of empathy and a willingness to manipulate or harm others to maintain control or power. Individuals exhibit an inflated sense of importance, crave admiration, and often blame others for their problems. They may be vindictive, paranoid, and intolerant of criticism. Unlike healthy self-confidence, their self-esteem is fragile, and they react defensively or aggressively when threatened. This combination of self-centeredness, hostility, and a disregard for others’ well-being characterizes malignant narcissism.
